I am going about my business and what goes and happens…

An idea for a story that is so unexpected I’m dying to write it!

I never knew writer’s block could come to such a mad crescendo of creativity. That mixed with years of non-dealt with mental health issues that I, now, wanted to defeat for once and for all.

A brief description of the last 10 months of my life. I lost a dear and very young friend, just nineteen years old. Cause of death, mental health. My sister-in-law, again very young, 49, found out she had ovarian cancer, within a fortnight she was gone. We never got to see her beforehand. I faced the biggest question in my history, and the source of many years of fear and sadness, and, of course, anger. I had spoken to my mum for the first time in 4 years! Sadly, it wasn’t due to a good reason, I thought she was dying. Three weeks of pure emotional upheaval. We have finally healed from one part of the situation. Together. A thing I never thought I would say.

We had a lady down the road die, that, too, was suicide. I published my first book of poetry in a moment of desperacy, and impulse, thinking I had a chance to make a living from this.

We had our bank closed without reason, and that meant no access to money we get weekly and monthly, and this a month before Christmas.

This period of such grief and such hardship, has prompted one thing in me. Creativity. I didn’t ask for it. But boy am I glad it came. My “pencil” is the tool that in the end gave me a reason to continue with fight.

Here I sit, still sad, grieving but also, happy I am doing stuff I have longed to do for so long. I have healed with my mum. And I am speaking to great people who make me feel human again. I believe in myself and I believe in making this life better, for me and my family!

Describe a random encounter with a stranger that stuck out positively to you. When my friend’s mum told me she had fun times with a barman that worked in the pub she worked at… And he was 30 years her junior! And she was married at the time! The positive takeaway is… mum’s open up…

Describe a positive thing a family member has done for you. My husband. Just being there, and not finding me abhorrent.

Dear ???

I’m sorry but I thought we understood each other. As it turns out, you were no more than a soundboard. I don’t know if your support was conditional, and to get a point across. I don’t know if you basked in the pain, or the venting I engaged in often. I just don’t understand. Now…
