Being a mum…
I was seventeen and pretty naive…
I was in my first long term relationship…
We found out I was pregnant…
He was cruel and manipulative…
I didn’t want to end up like so many others…
I didn’t want to be trapped…
The hardest decision to make was to have this child.
So many options… But all of them, a cop out, in my mind and heart.
Now, nearly 25 years later, I have a young man, who is my pride and joy. I saw him evolve from a gangly little Mowgli type kid, to a man, with a car. A job he has been promoted in several times since joining! Indeed with every moment we get to spend together is usually wrapped with laughter and debate. My son, so wise of a decision, I ever could make.
